Wasp stings healed

Several years ago I was weeding behind our house when without warning I was stung several times by wasps. I ran away and sat down to collect my thoughts. "The curse causeless shall not come" occurred to me (see Prov. 26:2). I looked over at the house. There was an opening in the stone wall that faced the house. I could see wasps actively coming and going. I was not being attacked without cause; they had been defending their home. Another quotation occurred to me, this one from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy ( see page 514: 28) "All of God's creatures, moving in the harmony of Science, are harmless, useful, indestructible." So, I reasoned, I can't harm the wasps and they can't harm me because each of us is an expression of God. Soon the numerous stings subsided and I was able to carefully complete the weeding. We kept the children away from the area and later in early winter plugged up the opening.  I'm grateful that as Christian Scientists we are encouraged to look beyond a knee-jerk reaction to a circumstance and see the larger picture, one in which a loving God is in control.
